I found it easiest to lay it down on its side to braid the arms. Arms need to be adjusted to balance weight. Color of LED bulbs (included) are adjusted by cycling through each color by pressing onoff button in cord. (Warm, off, mid-tone, off, cool, off). Cord is black.
