My birds started to come the day I installed the feeding station. The feeder was easy to install but due to faulty soldering one of the arms broke and I cannot tighten it in place. The large wooden feeder has a few design flaws. The acrylic windows doesnt stay in place and the wood is very thin and the screws became stripped and wouldnt tighten. The tracks for the windows doesnt line up well and made it difficult to slide the windows in place. Its not as sturdy as I hoped and am worry that it will fall apart once seeds are placed in and birds try to come eat. Its a nice concept but it does fall short of the mark. I bought this feeder because of its large seed holding capacity and also because the feeding ports are only located at the bottom, rather than at multiple heights like most feeders, so I don't have to fill it daily. The top is easy to slide up for ease of filling. I like that the individual perches are spring-loaded to close port access if a weighty rodent (we have large wood rat problems, not squirrel problems) gets onto the perch. Previously, I had a squirrel-proof feeder that had one continuous perch wrapped around the bottom, which allowed many birds to feed, but the issue with that was, so many birds could fit on it, that it would actually get weighed down, triggering the spring-loaded port closure, so the birds couldn't feed. I was so happy to have found this one with individual spring-loaded perches! It's a good quality feeder. We have several birdfy feeders now around our house. So far this one has been great - the camera is clear & picks up movement just like the others do, and the reservoir holds a good amount of nectar for whoever wants to stop by. That being said, some improvements it could use: - the unit is light enough that hanging it as it is will allow it to blow around in a strong enough wind. We'll probably put a 4x4 post in the ground and velcro the feeder to the top of the post. For future iterations of this they may want to go with a different support system. - it states that it's ant-resistant. We haven't had any big ants end up in the nectar, but I have had some smaller ants drown, so it should probably get a few improvements in that area All in all, we're happy with our purchase. Beautiful the birds love this one better than the old one and so do we! It is a very strong and durable birdfeeder. I also like that it is metal with no plastic parts that could chip or break. Keep a close eye on your feathered friends dining by placing this ClearView Window Tray Bird Feeder in your window. The semicircular top and base of the unit rest inside your home and a polycarbonate window here keep the birds visible. Two rectangular adjustable PVC panels, form the front of the item and allow the unit to be mounted into most single and double-hung windows from 27" to 36" wide. The main reason we have chosen the clear panel is that a lot of bids are territorial and would attack a mirror reflection of themselves.
