Very hard to find narrow base brackets that allow hook part to rotate. This is the one! We used them vertically to put curtains in closet door frame (no more sliding doors for us. This non-standard installation required some modification - basically drilling into the hook part so the screw can carry the modest weight of rod and curtain. Fortunately, the hook is solid metal, not hollow and was able to accept the screw and carry the weight. This is the second time we purchased these brackets for a vertical install for a closet door curtain. I bought 4 pairs of these holdbacks for the curtains of my 4 windows in the living and dining area. Have not mounted them yet, but unpacked and inspected the package. We need to drill and anckor each of my 4 pairs. Lots of work ahead. 3 holes on each of the 8 holdbacks makes for 24 holes and anchors!!!! The material ( made in China) seems sturdy, however the depth could be bigger. But they look nice and will go well with my black finials. This listing is for a Black fiberglass drapery curtain pull wand with a universal grommet ring and clip. These wands are sturdy, lightweight, and easy to use. Each wand comes with a stainless-steel snap hook that is ½ inch wide for easy installation. Inside grommet ring diameter: 1 3/8 inch, outside ring diameter: 1 3/4 inch. Grommet rings will work for 1-inch and 1 1/8-inch diameter drapery rods.  Not intended for extendable rods, could catch, and not move smoothly. Each wand is 6.5 mm or .25 inches in diameter, wide for ease of grip. Works great to keep your fabric clean and free of fingerprints. When installing make sure to put the ring in between the first two grommets of your drape and put the clip on the first grommet (see picture).
