This rug looks great in our family room. Has more shimmer than what you can see in the pictures, but not mad about it (actually like it better). The pile is pretty tight and the rug is soft. The only issue with this particular brand is the rugs ship folded (as stated in the product reviews) it wasn't an issue with this design/pile, but it was with one we returned.
