Auto locking mechanism looks the two pieces together. Chair frame made is solid wood and steel. They rock and swivel 180 only stationary when reclined. The leather is supple and soft, and durable. I purchased two and they are definitely worth the investment. These recliners are very comfortable to sit and lounge in with. It reclines just shy of flat. The recliner also has built in usb ports for charging devices the side when relaxing, however power is needed for charging and reclining. Once I purchased they were tagged online as out of stock. My wife and I purchased the Titus by flexsteel power reclining sofa with lumbar heat and massage.
