The finished product we pushed all 3 together but you could have them in separate places in your home if you wanted. It was exactly what we were looking for to add closet space to our bedroom. These cabinet systems are nice for the price. Of note, be careful in being too eager with how versitile they fit width wise as the cabinet unit is quite large and even in our 100” reach in closet the configurations for hanging are limited.
