I was greatly disappointed in the appearance of the mats. There was little to no contrast in the pattern and the colors were barely discernible. It looks a very blurry, dingy and dirty brown. These dishes are better than expected. They are heavy and the color is so pretty...much prettier in person. The pictures do not do them justice. They are microwave and dishwasher safe.
