No. But it is extremely helpful. These are things I was ready for, but some other buyers might not be ready for. This is an RF controlling device. While it makes some devices a little easier to use it does not make those devices "smart". If you have someone who likes to use the remotes a lot, the app will show incorrect settings for those devices that have changed with the remote. This does not bug me, but for someone who is not ready for that, make sure you understand what this device is first. I highly recommend Bond. This is an affordable way to use what you already have. Less devices in the landfill for replacements, and a pretty great way to control my devices from my phone. I like the straightforward design of this oven. It heats food quickly and has a sleek appearance, especially with the controls located on the front. One thing I've noticed is that I sometimes lean against the front knobs while using it, so in hindsight I may actually prefer controls on the back. That said, the oven's performance has been excellent. After completing the initial burn-off process, I baked banana bread, and it turned out perfectly, the best banana bread I've made.
