This is a solid little cabinet. The only assembly was to screw in the legs, and even these were marked so you knew which leg went where. The magnet that holds the doors shut is quite strong and you do have to give it a good tug. If you plan to store books in it, note that the space between the shelves is only tall enough for standard sized books, not oversized ones.
