It works entirely below the surface, won’t change the look or color of the substrate, and won’t leave a surface film. By reducing surface water absorption, cracking, spalling, pitting, mold, mildew, algae, staining, and other damage and deterioration caused by surface water absorption will also be reduced.

I’ve got a fairly long and steep concrete driveway that is starting to show its age a little bit. There has been some minor cracking from the freeze-thaw cycle each winter. I decided to try the Armour SX5000 water-based sealant to see if it would improve the situation. I have delayed writing this review for a bit as I wanted to driveway to go through at least one winter season. I first pressure washed the entire driveway surface which is pretty time consuming. I then applied the Armour sealant with a manual pump sprayer. This part went fairly quickly. The trick is to get the sealant covering the driveway well, but not so much as to create puddles that aren’t absorbed. I made sure there was no rain in the forecast for a couple of days. Initially, I did half of the driveway first and the first day that it rained the difference on the two sides was very noticeable. Water on the coated side was beading and running off and on the other side it was being absorbed into the concrete. I'm not yet sure how well my new grow lights are going to help my plants and I wasn't at all happy to learn that they have to be plugged in to work since nothing in the description or photos shows a cord, but they are easy to use and very convenient in less-than-convenient locations. There is also a timer, tho the control is so tiny that it is difficult to read. After using it just one day, I noticed my succulent reaching upward, toward the light, which generally means that it is not enough light, but I moved the light closer to the plant and that seems to have helped. I am hopeful that these will fix the issue I have of wanting to be surrounded by plants, while not having enough sunlight in my home.. Timothy. Spring Grove, PA. Sat May 16 2026
