I am so excited for this mini split unit. Getting a new central air conditioner is just not in the cards right now. This is a very affordable price for the amount of ac and heat that you are getting. Things of note, we had to buy a specialty drill bit to be able to install the units properly. We live in a brick house and needed to be able to drill through the brick. The lines that connect from outside to inside need about a 2 inch diameter hole to pass through. We also decided to buy a rack so that we could hang the main condenser above the ground. We were not able to install this by ourselves and had to call for reinforcements via an HVAC guy. Once everything is finished being installed I will update with the finished product! UPDATE: like others have posted, you will need a special HVAC vacuum to start the unit. You will also need special wire and a 220 outlet to connect to. Bought this for our lower level that doesn’t have central air. Actually had to move and use this upstairs now that our central air has failed on the main floor. We werent actually looking for a new air conditioner until this popped up here on Wayfair.. What caught my attention was a feature that weve never had before, appwifi! The Wi-Fi feature for this air conditioner is a game changer for us. We downloaded the app on our phones and we were up and running in minutes. We got this for our daughters room and she loves the fact that she can turn on the air conditioner remotely. I happen to love the visual display on the front, its illuminated at night and just adds to the tech feel of this air conditioner. It is surprisingly quiet. Our daughters room is a medium size room and the air conditioner about blew her right out ..the cool air that this thing puts out is amazing. My favorite part is the remote control, I like the real-time digital display and the fact that its not so tiny that it wont get lost is a plus ! We purchased this here on Wayfair during one of Wayfairs many sales, the price was right the shipping was fast and free. The box arrived looking a little rough, our delivery people are not careful at all, this air conditioner was so well packaged that despite the damage on the outer packaging the air conditioner is in perfect working condition. Do not hesitate to buy this, It is also energy star rated and it will give you the breakdown how much it will cost per month to run it which I really appreciate. We had our contractor install two of these heaters with the covered patio extension we built last spring. We spend a ton of time enjoying our patio year round and these heaters were put to the test and passed with flying colors. The heaters were easy to operate with the remote controls and they provided a surprisingly decent amount of heat for residential units. It is recommended that you wait 24 hours to turn your unit on after it arrives. I went against that recommendation because it was absolutely sweltering in my studio space that had nothing but a fan. I purchased two of these bad boys to cover 1030 ft.² of open space with 18ft ceilings. I met FedEx AT THE DOOR! And they brought them in for me and set each unit at each window I wanted them to be placed. So delivery was smooth and easy. The installation instructions were easy to understand and the units took no more than 10 minutes each to be installed. NOTE: you will need some weather tape to seal off some gaps, but that’s to be expected. It was likely about 90° in my space before I turned them on and these had me feeling much cooler and more comfortable within about 30 minutes (run on medium at 68°) and after about an hour and a half, I didn’t feel the need to run them on medium anymore. They’re pretty quiet on the low fan cool setting, but of course they are louder on medium and high but nothing that will disturb my peace in my studio. having a window AC unit is not the prettiest thing so I can’t speak to aesthetics but I’m very happy with these —my problem has been solved..
