It's a nice cabinet and heavy, but not solid oak as we had thought. It's an oak veneer and not all oak veneer in some spots so if you get unfinished staining doesn't work very well, so we had to paint ours. Just beautiful! Churchill Media Cabinet is darker than pictured. It is painted with a chalk type paint, very flat, no sheen, there are 2 pieces, the hutch and bottom drawers, it is very heavy and solid, took 3 men to lift the hutch onto the bottom drawers. There are no holes for electrical/cable cords, we had to drill those ourselves. The cabinet was missing 2 shelves as well as 1 drawer with putty filler, there was a mistake when they drilled the holes for the hardware pulls. Of course, it will look great with any flat-screen TV, so don't be afraid to use a smaller TV. Extremely durable it definitely has some weight to it which surprised me. When it was heavy, I knew it was going to be durable and thats exactly what it was. Update one of the handles was put on upside down so it was an easy fix. The lid will actually be raised when you raise the TV and will be lowered when you lower the TV. I have therefore raised my rating to five stars. The TV stand serves the purpose. The mechanism to raise and lower the TV works well. However, the hardware was put on crooked and the hinges for raising the top theme with somewhat dangerous. I’m not sure I see the point of using Alexa to raise your TV when you have to stand up and raise the lid manually. It would be much better if there was someway to remotely lift and lower the lid.
