We are pretty happy with the platform bed. Very protected in the box. The instructions were only pics, which was easy to understand. There are a TON of beds similar to this for much cheaper, but it was nearly half off and several hundred more normally so I went for it. It is someone different than the many industrial look beds out . The mattress shown is 14” thick and not yet expanded. I think there might be a tolerable 1” gap if you got a 12” mattress. It’s really beautiful, all wood, and what one hopes for when getting the cheaper ones, which are fine for dorms. But this thing is really solid and unbelievably heavy. Arrived quickly and my husband put it together. I was expecting it to be taller from the picture, and the length was accurate.
