Directions are just pictures, so there are a few things I had to go back and fix cus the directions didn’t explain one part should happen first when screwing in pieces in each step. The swing from Almont Co arrived in 2 boxes ready to be put together. The directions were simple but a little confusing. I also used my own tools to assemble it. It took about 2 hours and it looked good but it would look nicer if the bolts and chain were a brown or bronze. The bare steel really stands out. Overall it’s a nice comfortable swing. This is a great swing. It was fairly easy to put together, although it's helpful to have 2 people for some of it. There is a small dent in the top bar, but not bad enough to send back. We had purchased the same porch swing stand 10 years ago and it held up really well in our harsh Florida weather (we had stained it for weather proofing, so that was a big factor for it doing so well). It was time to purchase a new one because the old one was starting to rot in certain places. I did not hesitate to repurchase the same stand. This time I wanted to stain it white to match our swing. The instructions could use a little more detail to help with the assembly, but we figured it out. To assemble the stand, you need a drill, a mallet, and a socket wrench or wrench. The manufacturer provides you with a Robertson drill bit for the 3” screws. We needed 3 people to start the first installation step. 2 people were needed to assemble the rest of it. This is a nice looking swing, and the cushions and seating are comfortable. It’s a bit too high for short people.
