Overall, we are very satisfied with this work bench. It looks nice and fits perfectly in the room. It will be very useful for my husband. It took us about seven hours to put together. We’re retired and just took our time to make sure we did everything correctly. I have on recommendation and one comment. Recommendation The bench top is in two pieces. Even with all the screws and brackets attached it still bends slightly in the middle when you move it. We highly recommend building it exacting where it will be placed. We built it on a tarp about three feet from the wall. When we lifted it a few inches to remove the tarp the center where the two pieces of wood meet pinched a bit which slightly split the wood. Comment The instructions are all very small line sketches, no words or real pictures. You really had to look closely to decipher if the part was the correct direction or even where it went. A second replacement came (from TX) and arrived in even worse condition (both tops had screws missing and screw holes stripped so won't stay on with screws provided, cracks on all sides, dents, etc.). I asked for a return label so whomever can inspect and see how badly damaged they are coming from TX. Third replacement sent from New Jersey or maybe Virginia- I cannot remember. Arrived in perfect condition like the first did. Customer service could not be better, but I'd call to order this piece with customer service and beg that it comes NOT from Texas. Love the two working ones and recommend 100%... again, if not arriving from Texas! I'm sharing damaged photos of last one sent, but not of two we kept, b/c they fit description perfectly.. Christina. Misleading advertising! Look in the photos and it's a one piece top. This actually comes in 2 pieces and on the box and instructions you can see that the countertop is not a single piece. Overall it is a nice kitchen island and is what I was looking for. I was worried that the island might be too big, but it has a nice size and decent working height. The stainless steel top will help provide a hygienic surface when I perform tasks like making sausages. The open shelves will help for storing the fry pans and Dutch ovens that are usually clumsier to put in the cupboards. The side compartments will help for storing the cat food. The kitchen island will be more useful than the kitchen table I never used. The unit ships in two major pieces - the top and the lower part. There are also two smaller counter supports for the overhung section. The top is very heavy. It is bonded to a thick section of wood. Assembly is pretty easy with about 8 fasteners. The stainless steel corners of the top have some grinding marks on it and give the corners a slightly different color. They could have been buffed better but are acceptable. I broke a drawer pull during assembly. They are installed on the inside of the drawer. I did not realize that the pulls had posts that went part of the way into the hole. When removing the pull to put it on the outside. One half of the pull came out and the pull broke. Partially it was my fault but the pulls are flimsy and thin. Really nice table. A lot more sturdy than I expected. Very good value. Just a couple of little details that would have moved it from 4 to 5 stars. The screws to adjust the side panels need washers to allow them to work well; the two screws that adjust tilt should have large fender washers to improve operation. Also the screws that stop the table from being wobbly (brace the uprights), the heads got damaged (not unusable) the first time I folded it up. I had a couple of 8mm screws and swapped them. The final thing, the bottom bar that lock the feet together pops out on the one I bought, I just used some rivets to hold it in (quick fix).. Simon. NS. Fri Mar 07 2025
