There’s more on some than others, but it’s a significant amount of work to wash it off thoroughly. I’m using these for food storage, so I have to do the cleaning. From reading online, the residue is likely from metal polish I wish the manufacturer did a better job removing this before shipping. Aside from that, I’m very happy with them. These work very well for preserving food. I have used them for vegetables, sliced meat , and a roast. They send you little plastic domes with the kit , I initially couldn't determine what these were for. After putting sliced roast beef with juices in it and the juice getting sucked up into the vacuum, did I realize the domes were to keep liquid from getting in the vacuum.
