I bought this desk a few years ago & am just now reviewing. Fun fact - I am typing this review from this exact desk. It's looking a bit warn these days, a few scratches in the surface & one banged up spot on the drawer where I have a habit of spinning my chair into. But for a simple home office, it works great. A lot of leg and/or storage space beneath the desk, one drawer & one cabinet built in, comes a part in two big pieces to move it, etc.. I did not purchase this to use as a desk. I needed a corner vanity and did not want to spend a lot of money. This was perfect for the budget and worked out great! The directions were very straightforward and easy to follow with the exception of the final step of placing the top shelving to the bottom base. The two sections in the corner as I show in the picture want to separate. This requires two people. I assembled this by myself and it took several hours. It is a great piece of furniture for a gaming desk or to use as a vanity. The light strip is a straight continuous wire and does not have an L shape to allow for the corner and sticks out. I’m giving this desk 4 stars because, while it is very spacious and offers plenty of room to work, I ran into several issues. I consider myself quite handy and enjoy putting furniture together, but the instructions were not the best. Additionally, one of the wooden planks arrived damaged. To make it fit my son’s bedroom layout, I had to reverse the configuration even though the desk isn’t designed to be reversible. Because of this, I had to place the angled plank upside down and couldn’t screw it into the metal frame however, this allowed the damaged part to face downward so it isnt noticeables. I was able to properly screw in the rectangular plank. While the metal frame is very sturdy and the desk provides a great amount of workspace, another downside is that fingerprints show up very easily on the wood. Structurally well built. Instructional pictures could be a bit bigger and some of the parts didn’t have letter stickers but overall well pleased. Daughter loves lights. It did take us 4 hours, we are older parents. You do need to be able to crawl around on the floor most of the time to assemble it. The new memory foam is just released and is still inflating so it looks weird. We went with the 10” mattress so it should come right up to the bottom of the headboard/side board. This feels bigger in our space than it looked in the picture, but I actually really love it. We have this little nook that needed something, and a space and a desk for my daughter and her graphic design work works out perfectly. I was really proud because she put it together herself, and while she felt frustrated as I was monitoring her putting it together, it seemed...not easy, but not complicated- somewhere right in the middle. Some of the boards didnt seem to lineup exactly perfectly at first, but in the end, with careful reading of the directions, it all worked out. Just as advertised. I was not expecting anything heavy duty. Everything was labeled VERY well and instructions were easy to follow (my only complaint was that in 2 sections it makes a point to say particular holes are “facing out”, but the illustration has them facing in). Overall, this bed is great for a kid. The metal frame makes it super sturdy and I think it will last a long time. The lights are a fun touch and you can control them via a phone app. Lights are dimmable.
