This is a strong well made bunk bed. I wish they put extra screws though becase a few broke and I had to improvise. My boys love it and that was the dream. Excellent quality, super sturdy and very easy to assemble!!! My boys ages 11 and 9 helped me (their mom) build it in just a few hours! It’s sturdy enough that I am able to lay in the top bunk with my 11yr old and it holds up great, my husband is 300lb and lays on the bottom bunk with our 9yr old with no issues! Very solid! And we love the pull out trundle twin size bed for when they have their cousins or friends over! We currently have our nugget play couch on the trundle rather than a mattress, but will be getting a mattress for it. Relatively easy install, just took time. Solid construction. There is a metal bar that runs under top bunk, that I purchased pipe foam insulation to cover it as I knew it was just a matter of time before a child hit there head really hard on it. While solid wood, it does indent/mark easily, I have two rambunctious boys who quickly put multiple dents in it and cracked the wood where the ladder attaches by pulling up on the ladder, but probably sonething similar would happen with any bed that we got!. Overall, it’s a great bed very sturdy and not too challenging to put together. It just takes time and there’s lots of pieces. As others have said some of the pieces are nicked or missing paint, but if you get white, it’s not too hard to fix which is why I went with that color. We got it for our almost 5-year-old and our three year-old and he on the bottom she’s on the top and they absolutely love it, and the top of the bed is fully guarded and having the stairs on the side versus like a traditional ladder is much more secure, which is why we went with it.
