These are really pretty and whimsical at nighttime. They should definitely be put in an area that gets plenty of sun to work optimally. The packaging is terrible, however. Both times I ordered them, there wasn’t any outer packaging, just the manufacturer’s box, which wasn’t even taped shut on the ends. The second set I received was missing parts, which had clearly fallen out of the package during shipping. Wow, this is a beautiful lantern. Arrived very securely packaged. I found the same item on another (much more expensive) website before I found the exact same thing here at a substantially better price (kicking myself over that one). This lantern is just beautiful in both day and night environments, but especially at night, when the colors reflect on the surface the lantern is sitting on. The solar bulb is bright, allowing for the beautiful reflective design. The thickness of the glass is substantial -- it doesn't feel like it will break easily.
