Great starter coop! We ended up stapling chicken wire around the entire outside for extra protection and also added a second latch to the bottom of the door. Impressed with the amount of roosting space plus ground space. I plan on redoing the latches on the roosting boxes as they aren’t the strongest and predators “could” get in or my chickens could get out. We did have missing pieces to 4 of the latches and had to go buy some. This is a cute item, for sure, but the price is too high for the level of quality. Silo top was misshapen and would not attach without adjustments, and the holes in the legs were not large enough to allow the bolts to pass through for assembly. I ended up needing to drill larger holes on each leg or there would have been no way to actually attach them. The 21.3 inch red & silver chicken feeder is awesome! As always, the shipping from Wayfair is fast, fast, fast! This chicken feeder arrived fast, well packaged and had assembly instructions included. I like the overall design of this chicken feeder and the fact that it has a handle on top for easy transport, caps on the feeder ports to secure the feed overnight, and it's taller than most chicken feeders with it's long slender metal legs. With that said, I gave this feeder 4 stars instead of 5 because after filling it to capacity it became somewhat 'top heavy' with those long slender metal legs. My husband beefed the legs up to prevent the feeder from toppling over - which really made a difference. It's still a great feeder and I would recommend it. My 12 year old son and I had no problem assembling this in about an hour. I the wood is not as thick/sturdy as I had hoped. I think it will be excellent for our first 4 chickens. We will have it inside. Covered run with a water proof cover so hopefully it will last a little while. The bottom metal tray seems fragile. I hope it can withstand the weight of 4 chickens.
