Being a novice fixing a drawer, it took me a bit to figure out how to separate this into 2 parts for install since there were no real instructions. I eventually figured out that you just had to forcefully yank them apart as their is no lever or catch for release like most drawer slides I've dealt with. After that, it was a simple install. I did have to search for flat small screws to install as they are not included with this slide. The only down side is that you have to pull so hard that it actually pulls the attached slide off the bottom of the drawer since there is no way to attach it tightly to thin wood bottoms. It seems sturdy enough, but we will be careful with this file drawer and never pull it fully out again...Not much left to reattach it to. This is an inspired and not your everyday under-mount kitchen sink with a unique shape. A large full bowl for maximum function, and large bakeware or cookware. It has a slight pitch to the bottom of the basin for superior drainage. The sink comes with an included bottom grid which helps water to run below dishes. I have never had a batch disposal before. I have always had the traditional ones that require a switch to turn on. The only real issue (and its not much of one) is with how our sink is in the kitchen island there isn't a good spot to set the plunger when not in use other than in the sink itself. It is powerful and I am really happy how well it does its job. There is no flap that covers the opening to the drain like on traditional disposals. I thought this would be an issue having it open and silverware falling in. With our drain off to the right it really has not been a problem. Although I did have a fork fall into it the fact that the disposals "neck" between the sink and the bottom is long so the fork never fully fell into the disposal it just stood straight up. Also not having that flap covering the disposal makes it much easier to see at a glance if anything has made its way in that should be there. It is noisy but not bad, just as I expected as from traditional. I like the safety of it not turning on unless the plunger is in. We have young kiddos. Just makes me feel better. We had this system installed in our remodeled bathroom in September 2023. For the most part, it has worked beautifully and we've been ecstatic with it. However, it is not without issues. It has to be re-paired with Amazon Alexa every 3 months, unlike every other Alexa skill out there. Why? Who knows. Because Kohler says so, I guess. Lately it has been needing to be re-paired every 2 weeks (today was the 3rd time). Also today it said there's a firmware update, but when I go to update I get a message that the shower is offline and I need to check the wifi connection. How? There's no wifi settings on the shower setup or in the app, or in my Kohler account anywhere. There is an Advanced/Locked section of settings that requires a PIN on the in-shower control and I have no idea what the PIN is or how to find it; we didn't set it and we can't get into these settings. The shower and all its components is gorgeous and feels wonderful, but these tech issues are enough to drive you crazy, especially 18 months after install.. Cajunmeggle. Tennessee. Wed Feb 26 2025
