The Halo is a luxury glass door that slides smoothly and silently along award-winning MAAX ball bearing technology. A stainless steel rail system and waterproof magnetic closer ensure tip-of-the-finger ease at all times with this frameless wonder. It features 8 mm tempered glass, 78-3/4 inch high glass panels, reversible opening - left or right for ease of installation and a massive 15 inch handle that is sleek and comfortable to use.
I've installed this door many times, and here are some tips to make your installation go smoother:
-The Halo and Halo Pro have different parts and installation steps, make sure you've identified which one you purchased and use the guide provided for your door
-position the wall jambs as close as possible to the exterior edge of the threshold, the door is wide and you want to avoid having the threshold guide overhang the base's threshold
-Don't forget to install the screw cups while installing the wall jamb screws
-Use the template to drill the wall fastener in the correct position
-Put the rollers and gasket on the bottom of the door panel, and place it inside the shower enclosure
-When moving the glass panels, always use two people as the panels are heavy and delicate while being installed
-Dry-fit the glass panel with the u-channel to get the correct measurement, then remove and cut the threshold to length
-While dry-fitting, check if the glass is level, and see what shims are needed to get it level before installing the threshold with silicone and double-faced tape
-Measure carefully the door opening at the top, and cut the header to length
-Make sure to cut opposite the side with holes, and use a miter box of table saw to make sure the cut is straight and square
-Mark the position of the wall fastener. It's much better to have two people with this step to make sure the header is level and square
-Rotate the panel fasteners to get the header level
-Install the covers on the wall fasteners and secure the header in place before installing the door panel
-Make sure you have the door bumper on the header and in the correct orientation before moving to the next step
-Apply the silicone sealant under the door guide
-Have two people install the door panel, and carefully avoid jostling the threshold guide
-use the provided wrench to turn the nuts and level the door panel against the wall
-Install the caps, handle and gaskets as shown
-Measure the opening and cut the threshold to the length specified in the guide. File it if necessary using a hand file
-Silicone underneath the threshold, then tape it in place to hold it securely while the silicone dries
-Fully open the door and mark the position of the door on the wall
-Use the jig to align the bumper with the wall bracket and fix in place, then open the door to make sure it is not touching the wall
-Install the wall channel on the previously marked position of the door, and drill in place
-You can adjust the bottom set screw to level the support bar if the door won't stay closed
-apply silicone as shown in the guide to waterproof the door, make sure to wait 24 hours before using the shower. Sean. Montréal. Tue Jun 09 2026
