The tile is made from a hardboard and is mounted to a metal rectangle. The hooks hang down from the metal plate in the back and are about 2.5" from the base. The hook opens about 1". A hanger is attached to the metal plate and is about 1.5" long. Lots of room to hang up using a screw or paneling nail. Great for the home or office to hold keys, leashes or just about anything.

Please note you have to buy the concealed wall box with this or it cant be installed. Mine arrived with a dent and as my contractor failed to tell me before installing it, I feel I have to keep it. Had he told me before installing it, which was rhr last thing he did as his job was done, I would have exchanged it as it's a great towel warmer and works well. This product is harder to find, it did come in dirty so had to hand clean each unit, 3 out of the 50 units per defective and the magnet that came with the product is not retail user friendly. I had a spare one with handle and it worked so much better. The basic brick style magnet took some play to get unit to unlock. It does the trick but overall quality not as good as I expected.
