This is a very pretty clock. I got the one with the darker face...the black background. It is not as bright as it is pictured in the write up on the website. I do not think I would have bought it if I had seen it in person, but it is pretty, and I have it hung so I will keep it. I do love the pendulum. Some people had complained about loud ticking...I hear no ticking at all. It keeps good time. I think you would like it, just be aware it is not a bright clock. Perfect for a den or a study. A combination of woods is used to create this modern mid-century feel wall clock. The wooden frame is finished in an ebony stain. The silver bezel holds a protective glass lens. A separate contrasting wooden overlay stained in a light brown cherry with laser-cut hour markers give a 3-dimensional look to the dial.
