Hours and hours are spent by a ceramic artist to painstakingly form, pinch and shape the porcelain clay into these master forms which are not only beautiful and unusual but have the structural integrity to maintain their shapes when fired. The coup de grace is the extreme variation in subtle color and opacity of the reactive glaze - a range from dusty browns and grays to clear golden citron.

The piece arrived very quickly and the quality was what I expected. However, the coloring was different from what I expected. The online photos showed a rust color veining, but in person it was more of a "dirty, earthy green" color veining. L. Bodine grew up in the pastoral lands of Kentucky, using the colors and patterns in nature as his inspiration. As the oldest of nine children, he spent most of his time taking care of his younger brothers and sisters. During his spare time, he used art as an escape from his busy life. Obsessed with the peace of mind that art gave him, he decided to pursue his career as an artist. Although he resides in Kentucky near his family, he spent most of his adult life traveling the country and soaking up all the inspirations. L.
