This is the quietest range hood I have ever used with an unique design. The installation is straight forward for most with video tutorial online that's readily available. I went with a professional installation. This range hood is rated at 1100cfm and the unique design has worked very well. My home no longer smells even when I deep fry. I did two modifications for my installation. I went with a Zephyr 6"-8" duct increaser. The reason I did this is because the range hood is rated over 1000cfm. This might not be necessary but it's a choice I made for myself because of the rated CFM. My installation required a 4" spacer piece. I used 6" 10-32 fine thread screws to secure my upper cabinet to the range hood to make up the 4" spacer difference. This is not necessary according to Fotile but I went the extra mile for $13 more in screws, bolts, and washers. So far I am very satisfied with how quiet and powerful it is. The product arrives in two long, flat boxes. The packing was sufficient for the most part except for the triangular pieces that are part of the roof. They were dented and scratched, but I didn’t think it was worth my time and trouble to try to have them replaced, so I pounded out the dents with a rubber mallet. The flaws are visible, but not as bad as how they came. Each piece of metal is covered with plastic film that should be removed before assembly, which takes a lot of time and patience, but once removed the metal surfaces are very clean with a good coating. Assembly definitely requires two people and several hours since there are over 300 screws, but once assembled, the structure is very solid. I was impressed with the engineering. All of the screw holes lined up and the instructions/diagrams were easy to follow. I built a wooden deck with 2x6 treated joists and treated plywood for the floor and screwed the base to that. The power on the Fotile range hood is excellent. For most cooking, I stay on the first 2 out of 3 fan settings. For high smoke activities such as seasoning a wok or searing steak, the 3rd settings is more than enough to suck up all the fumes. The fan speeds are all pretty quiet. This was the only vent cap that I could find with 6" round ducting, for use with my Air Exchanger input. Although it worked, with some difficulty and modification, I wish it were made of plastic instead of heavy duty aluminum.
