This Didier Barrister Bookcase (4 door - HAVANA GOLD stain selected) works for what I needed it for. A couple of suggestions to the manufacturer: foot pads should be leveling type foot pads, I have tiled floors. Doors should close magnetically to ensure doors close ALL the WAY, and an inside (top-level) electrical on-off light would be a nice addition. I love this desk! I had been working on a small desk with no drawers for a few years and wanted an upgrade. This desk worked perfectly for my space and I love all the drawers. Also love the 2 outlets and USB ports right on top on the desk. Makes it easy to charge my stuff and plug in all my computer things. The assembly instructions were the best I have ever dealt with. Every piece was labeled and all the small screws, etc were in individually labeled bags. The instructions themselves were very good. I had no trouble putting it together myself (I am a 54 year old 5’ 3” woman). It did take me about 5 hours to assemble by myself. I probably should have split it up over 2 days, but nothing was hard. The desk is great overall. I really like the finish and it’s heavy which, for me speaks to the quality of the build. It was a relatively easy process to assemble as well. Unfortunately, there were several dings in the desk that I believe resulted from being delivered by FedEx rather than the delivery company that usually delivers larger pieces of furniture. Therefore, this very large and heavy desk was delivered by one man. I honestly don’t even know how he got it up on the front porch all on his own. Ordered 2 at once. One arrived from New Jersey (?) in perfect condition, but the second shipped from TX never arrived. Customer service has been perfectly helpful for all FIVE (?) calls. A replacement (from TX) was ordered and arrived not boxed with corner protectors/top and bottom cardboard pieces completely damaged and unusable. A second replacement came (from TX) and arrived in even worse condition (both tops had screws missing and screw holes stripped so won't stay on with screws provided, cracks on all sides, dents, etc.). I asked for a return label so whomever can inspect and see how badly damaged they are coming from TX. Third replacement sent from New Jersey or maybe Virginia- I cannot remember. Arrived in perfect condition like the first did. Customer service could not be better, but I'd call to order this piece with customer service and beg that it comes NOT from Texas. Love the two working ones and recommend 100%... again, if not arriving from Texas! I'm sharing damaged photos of last one sent, but not of two we kept, b/c they fit description perfectly.. Christina.
