This is pretty decent quality. Not high end for sure but perfect for my game room as a display for my statues I paint. When building it, it seems unstable and wobbly but once you put the clips in the back its very solid and stable. I recommend adding self adhesive felt to the bottom of the furniture when building it. The LEDS work well but it could use another set on the second shelves of each section so I am going to add two more strips to mine. The LEDS are also at a very bright white range so I'm replacing the existing ones with 5500k temp lights that will display the colors more correctly. This bookcase was purchased to replace one that was significantly smaller. Additionally, the other bookcase was made of laminate and pressboard that was of decent quality, but didn't quite have the quality to last for the time we desired. Once we received our shipment from Wayfair and unboxed all the pieces, I could see immediately that the quality of the material was far superior to not only our previous bookcase, but also several other products we've purchased from Wayfair. The finish was smooth as silk, and the stain was evenly applied throughout. The hardware to assemble the bookcase was also of superior quality to some of the cheap packs that arrive with other D-I-Y assembled products. NOTE: This product can be assembled by one person, but it would be much quicker and easier with two (or three if you're like me with two eager-to-help young 'uns). One of the trademarks of solid wood furniture is the weight of the finished product. This one indeed was heavy. Granted, non-solid wood furniture can be heavy, but if any of it is light, you can be assured the quality is slight! All in all, we are very pleased with this product and would highly recommend it.. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This monster of a shelving unit was delivered to my house awhile ago, and because it’s so beautiful and special, I was not able to be the one to put it together, I have hired someone to come in a put it together for us. Unfortunately life happens and we have 2 family emergencies and had to reschedule multiple times, so I cannot get a fully finished picture of this before the time of the campaign runs out. We have taken the 2 pieces out to make sure everything was there. The drawers at the bottom come complete, so no need to do much with it, but moving it takes a small army. Not really, but it’s not a one person job, especially for someone who’s 5’5 and 130lbs. I am amazingly grateful for this, and will have a lovely picture up after it’s been put together, but unfortunately the earliest that will be will be a few days after the campaign is over, but I will update when it’s available. Of the 2 I ordered, one arrived badly damaged. Because I needed the pair and these were out of stock for awhile, I refused the second one out of fear of never getting a matched pair. I wasn't aware of the $200 fee for the return, but lesson learned. No more Wayfair!!! On first glance, the bookcase is really pretty. But honestly, the $1500 bookcase looks like a $500 piece. The shelves are shallow and short, especially when the doors are opened and raised into the shelf, so the practicality for holding books is lacking. Well, I can't give a complete review yet as I have asked to return this and get a new one. This will be the 3rd delivery. The first time, one side panel was totally broken in half and the assembly guy said he wouldn't be able to do it (obviously). The second time, the inside of the back panel came with some kind of grease or heavy dirt stains (not talking about the blackish that is part of the coloring; it had some kind of marks that looked like someone stepped on it and the dirt was different in texture but didn't wipe off). The side panels on the inside also have streaks. AND it's totally unstable! I'd say maybe it's my floor but I had a bookcase in that same spot before and it didn't wobble like this one is. So I reordered it but on top of all that, it is now emitting heavy fumes! I have two air purifiers going, a fan, etc and it is diminishing. I hope it will work out. It's really hard to find a bookcase if you have space limitations and lots of books and want a sturdy, 6 shelf book case. (It says 5 shelves but unlike every other company, they are not counting the bottom shelf). On the plus side, the back of the bookcase is definitely stronger and nicer than most cardboardish/particle board bookcase backs and it is indeed a very handsome book case. The shelves seem strong. the sides look ok but if you knock on them like you would knock on a door, they sound hollow. do I think it's worth the asking price? No! But the options are limited depending on your requirements as I looked for 2 1/2 weeks full time for a 5-6 shelf bookcase that would hold hard cover books and not exceed 30-32 inches wide.
