The color and texture are WAY off from the photos. It is shown on the website as being a darker reddish hue with contrasting orange fringe on the ends and subtle lines stitched through it. The lines are non-existent and the color is far more brown with the fringe being the same shade as the rug itself. This rug is virgin wool and I can tell because it literally smells like lanolin when you first open it, the smell is not chemical at all, but rather pleasant to me, and dissipates quickly in a few days. I really like the quality on this rug and highly recommend. The colors are exactly as the pictures and it's real wool tightly woven, I have a feeling it will last a long, long time. This rug is beautiful!!! I love it and everyone who has seen it in my home wants to know where I purchased it. It’s great quality and soft. It does shed some when I vacuum you can tell. However, the shedding is not bad, so I am believing it will stop over time. I have had wool rugs before that the shedding was unbearable and I have had great quality wool rugs that stop shedding over time/use.
