A very large and heavy piece. I had expected a bit more robustness to the hardware that was provided but it looks like the thin back panel does some of the structural support. That panel itself was a bit shoddy - 4 panels held together by tape. Also, definitely consider securing it to the wall if you are placing it on carpet because it will wobble. I wish furniture manufacturers would stop to consider that not every piece of furniture is going to be put against a wall, so it would be nice to have a decent backing. The back of this bookcase is some sort of shiny, vinyl covered panel and the color is awful. Maybe it was meant to be faux marble, but they missed by a mile.
