I will warn that it is super heavy. the top piece alone is like half the weight of the desk. was able to install it by myself just fine, went together quite quickly with a drill. While the bottom could home a pc, I was advised against for gpu performance reasons, but you totally could if you wanted to with the hole for cords in the back. there is a shelf that sits in there that I took out in the picture.. Beautiful desk, frustrating assembly Once assembled, this desk looks fantastic. The white finish and gold hardware give it an upscale appearance, and the size is perfect for a home office or bedroom workspace. The drawers provide good storage, and the finished product looks much more expensive than its price point. Unfortunately, the assembly process was one of the most frustrating furniture builds I have experienced. Several diagrams in the instruction manual appear to be incorrect. Some parts were not labeled, and the drawer slide illustrations were reversed, which caused significant confusion and required disassembling and rebuilding portions of the desk after it was already assembled. I also found several small chips in the white finish. They are not highly noticeable from a distance, but they were disappointing on a new piece of furniture. The desk itself earns high marks for appearance and functionality, but the instructions and quality control issues prevented this from being a 5-star experience. This desk arrived on time and was delivered to my top door step. The box weighed just over 100 lbs so I used a dolly to carry it upstairs to my office. It was a workout but I managed unassisted. It took about 20 minutes to unboxed and organize all of the pieces. Everything was clearly labeled, but there are just so many parts. Instructions were clear and easy enough to follow. Clear enough that I had to backtrack once but never had to disassemble anything. I accidentally got lucky doing one step correctly the first time when went back to check again. All of the tools you'll need are included, but the screwdriver is not too comfortable. I swapped it out for one of my own screwdrivers because the one included really hurt when I tightened screwed. There were a few extra screws included in case you dropped one so don't panic when you have one of every piece leftover. In the end, it took about 2.5 hours of build time on top of the 20 minutes unboxing and 10 more to clean up at the end. I did this myself without power tools. I'm not sure why some "handy" people needed 6 hours. As for the color, it is black. I was worried because one review mentioned it having a brown tone to it. It is solid particle board with black, wood grain laminate on the outside. I have it in my office with other black furniture and black picture frames. It matches everything perfectly. I didn't like the drawer pull handles so I swapped them out with others I found in Wayfair when I swapped out handles on another desk. This way everything matches. It's a solid build as far as particle board goes. The drawers have a flimsy bottom so don't overload them. The keyboard drawer has a wooden bottom and can handle a little more weight. The lock on the file cabinet simply latches on to a small piece of wood that could either be unscrewed after removing the middle drawer or by pulling too hard and snapping that tiny board.
