A highly skilled artisan copper plate engraver, company founder and chairman Roy Kirkham formed the Pottery business in the early 1970's producing character jugs and figurines, and later the fine bone for which he would become globally renowned. This is an inspired and not your everyday under-mount kitchen sink with a unique shape. A large full bowl for maximum function, and large bakeware or cookware. This is a nice looking, functional, well made sink. The finish is very nice, no rough edges, no oddly shaped sections. It directly replaced a double-bowl sink in the same size and fit perfectly. For the price, I can't complain. If I had to nitpick, I'd like the stainless to be 1 gauge thicker but it seems tough enough as-is. I don't love the "clang" of pots and silverware in a stainless sink and garbage disposal sound echoes more than a solid-surface so I added some inexpensive sound deadening mat to the underside of this sink and I find it to be a great upgrade.. Beautiful sink and got plenty of comments on it before and just after it was installed. Still think it’s a beautiful sink but does scratch very easily. We used sink for 2 days before sink grid arrived and babied it. It still got one small scratch as cooking utensils were put at bottom of sink. It has subsequently started rusting. It is no larger than a grain of rice but is noticeable. The sink grid helped to cover it up but is still frustrating based on cost. If purchasing, make sure to get the sink grid before using.. Derek. Blanco makes the best stainless steel sinks. This sink is very roomy and beautiful. If you buy a stainless steel sink it MUST have sound dampening.
