Beautiful lamp! High quality and a true stand out piece in the room. It has a great mid century modern look that mixes well with other styles. Coming out of the box I was concerned about it’s stability due to narrow base and wide top shade, but have had no issues with it being placed on a small end table in a highly used room. Perfect! This lamp is attractive and just the right richness in color for a male wardrobe room. The lamp sits atop a chest of drawers, casting the needed additional lighting to see inside the chest and the finish work during the nightly shoe shine ritual. Although I am personally not a fan of the bright-white shade, the oblong shape of the lamp (and the shade) makes it difficult to find a replacement for something with color. This is a beautiful lamp although it's not the finish I ordered. I ordered brass and received a chrome lamp. However I'm keeping the chrome, it is beautiful and the shade is the most noticed aspect of the lamp. The dimmer switch is by far the best I have ever seen! Just turn the dial from off and the light begins to glow, it works perfectly and so easily in that it is positioned right where you would expect it on this type of lamp. I'm using a 60 watt incandescent bulb and the warm glow it provides is perfect with this lamp and in my room. Finally, the lamp shade is perfect..
