This covers a 16x12 pergola to each outside edge purlin with the use of bungee balls. It does pool small amounts of water after rain but does evaporate. Love these Royal Shade sun cloths!! I've purchased several of these to cover numerous outdoor areas that need protection from the sun. They are durable but flexible and allow rain and air to flow through them. They have heavy duty grommets approx. every 12 inches to help secure the shade cloth which really helps because many companies don't have this many grommets and the sunshade ends up flapping and tearing in the wind. These sun shades are so practical, affordable, and easy to install. I highly recommend these for anyone who needs more shade or protection from the sun! Love the privacy when closed. Total blackout from outside light when completely closed. Added lightning in the gazebo to create a cozy secluded environment. One thing I’d do differently is to provide grommets at the bottom of the curtain to allow for anchoring. They blow in when the wind blows or we get a heavy rain. They do provide shade and rain protection when there is no wind. Still looking for a way to anchor them so wind doesn’t blow them constantly. Otherwise, it is a heavy fabric that seems to be weathering well thru the last couple of years. They remain up year round and provide warmth in the winter from cold breezes when they don’t blow in..
