I bought these to help reduce the wind that we get on our deck. We have them attached to the railings. Last year we had to chase our furniture a few times during our wind storms but not this year. They worked very well as a wind break. They definitely had to be secured well to keep them in place. They look very nice and add to the look of our deck instead of taking away. The only tool required for an approximately 90-minute assembly of the 2 panels is a cordless drill and a mallet for a no-dig installation (for the harder ground we recommend using an auger). The distance between the panel’s slats is roughly ¾” which makes it perfect for providing you with privacy around patios, decks, or porches while also promoting efficient airflow around air conditioning units.
