Trust me. It will help it to not slide and also allows for comfort. The pad smells like frumunda chemical with American hot cocoa mix. The rug smells like normal rug. Not really bothering me. My kid says the pad smells like ‘the manufacturing process’. I like this because I’m stuck forever wanting to live a ‘conversation pit’ life without the pit.
