They do benefit from wood oil so they don't get dried out. Took a while to find an electric candle tall enough for the tall one but I prefer those to real candles because of the mess factor. The tall one did split at the joint on the top for some reason (we don't leave them outside) but I was able to reglue it and it looks fine. They are a great decor addition!. Marjorie.
