While this is great for a commercial business, I have been using it as a trash receptacle for my backyard outdoor kitchen. It has been outside 24/7 for the past 3 weeks and has no signs of rust, even after being exposed to rain. Because it is so heavy, at least 50 pounds, I have not had any problems with it blowing away. The lid id somewhat difficult to remove for me,but my husband had no problem getting it off. I was able to find some huge heavy duty trash bags that fit nicely in it. Gerber isnt as well-known a brand as some others, but when I was shopping for fixtures for a full bathroom, it was carried by a local, highly-respected plumbing supply store, and I wound up choosing them for their design. We liked the brushed nickel as it doesn't show fingerprints or soap spots as much! This was very easy to install, had all the necessary parts included, and liked that it included the plate for perfect match. I do think it was unnecessarily tall. A few inches shorter and it still would've been great. It's nice when having to do large tasks in the kitchen sink like washing large soup pots or even pup baths for the shih tzus!
