It's lovely material, but the install was initially pretty (conceptually) tough. Screwed up with the adhesive and had to order another piece of this. The main thing that saved the final install was using a (cordless) nailer, which made it a lot easier. If you don't have one, recommend to borrow one from a friend (hopefully you already have one). If you don't use a nailer, try to find the least obtrusive finish nails / use a precision finish tool (not sure what it is called but it's a little thing you use with a hammer to push the nail heads deeper, but not so that you dent the moulding) to submerge the nail heads. When you paint this, also recommend to start with the little domes and really work around them so paint does not pool. Finish the rest of the paint job with swipes in parallel to the length of the 'board'. I ended up using four coats of paint...it was worth it. Your mileage may vary! Perfect! It elevates a wall and it's very easy to work with. It stays straight (unlike those rubber pvc rollable moulding). It's similar to a foam board but it's sturdier. It was easy to cut with shears. Using construction adhesive to stick to the wall, it was a breeze to put up. It's also paintable. I didn't need any primer. Just a couple coats of paint! I ordered the ceiling medallion in "primed" and plan to paint it to coordinate with the room. It arrived quickly and well packaged; my only complaint is that the hole in the middle isn't centered; fortunately, the canopy for the light fixture is large enough that it conceals that the hole is off-center. The ceiling medallion is much heavier than others I have purchased; I am sure it will require construction adhesive to keep it attached to the ceiling. The medallion arrived on time and was well-packaged, arriving in good condition. Overall, it looks nice and should work well for my project.
