I fought against my urge to get a light rug to go with this dark couch, but the brown is the PERFECT complement. I am so happy they carried square sizing in this rug. Ok - this is several years down the road and wanted to update folks on this rug. Initially, we loved it. I still love the color and it is very comfortable underfoot. However, this rug sheds horribly and has stretched and shrunk in size since it is not bound. Constantly had to adjust it and the shed was constant and just a mess. We finally could not take it anymore and sent to landfill. I did not want anyone else to have to deal with what we had so didn't even consider donation! We love our new rug ! The color is perfect for our room and décor - and the quality is top notch. I wanted something that would be soft and cushioned somewhat underfoot, but not a high pile that would be hard to maintain. You notice the quality of this rug immediately. It is plush and has substance. I ordered the small accent rug and it works beautifully in front of my gas fireplace. I haven't turned on the fireplace at this point, so I'm not sure how it does with heat. I like this really like this piece. A larger size rug would be wonderful too!
