I finished the install on this with my own paver platform and rain chain. Had our first rain already and filled it up. I did replace the spigot. While this isn’t drinking water, I still don’t want lead runoff. I replaced it with a 304 Stainless Steel 34 Inch NPTMIP Male Hose Bibb (in case you are searching for the size). It’s a perfect fit, no leaks, and excellent pressure. I’m still giving it 5 stars because I got my barrel when it was marked down. The sale price the new spigot was still cheaper than the regular price d barrel. Our 55-gallon gray barrels are a great “neutral” color that looks nice with the green plants and trees in your garden. They hide well behind deciduous trees and bushes, and won’t clash with any color house. Heavy-duty screening keeps mosquitoes out. Our rain barrels are uniquely designed with plastic fittings that match the rate of expansion and contraction of barrel plastic from season to season to avoid leakage. These rain barrels are repurposed from pre-used overseas food barrels. There may be slight scratching or scuffs due to previous overseas transportation. Since our rain barrels are made of high-density polyethylene plastic they can be left outdoors even in the winter months so there is no need to modify your downspouts in the spring and fall. The exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. The residual odor will dissipate after a few full barrel-filling cycles. We use a ph-balanced, environmentally friendly soap when cleaning so that the water gathered can immediately be used on plants without harm. These barrels keep difficult to break down plastics from adding bulk to landfills and also contain and repurpose stormwater.

This has worked well for us. Way to out together and produces a great compost. One thing to note is that the compost can rest on the bottom ledge inside which can make it difficult to open the doors.
