This arrived well-packed in the manufacturer's box and was new, arrived ahead of schedule. The 5.5 quart size was the size I was looking for things like chili, stews, soups, etc. I needed to buy new because I moved to a home with an induction cooktop. This is an expensive investment but after all the research (Reddit was the best source) I wanted guaranteed reliability and longevity. I measured my old large pot and this one correlated close. I personally think the largest size, the 8.9 would be too big for my daily use. I love this rainbow cover for the umbrella canopy, it's so cute and colorful for summer. Downside is that it doesn't fit the canopy base I have by the same manufacturer - I even measured before buying to make sure it would fit but their measurements are off by a couple of inches. For some reason they also don't make this rainbow colorway top an option to buy with an existing base which is weird to me.
