This beautiful bath tub has been a labor of love - the process of choosing one that is. I looked at more modern styles by Victoria + Albert, and in person I was pretty disappointed with the volcanic limestone. It felt like cheap plastic to me & my husband. It could be fantastic, but it just felt cheap. I decided I wanted something more solid and classic in both look & feel. Cheviot has been a wonderful company to work with. I chose the custom exterior color “Midnight Navy” by Benjamin Moore, and I absolutely love it! Our home remodel and bathroom extension is still underway, so I haven’t had the tub installed yet. I have however sat in it many times, and it’s very comfortable. I do wish I would have gone for the longer size. I am 5’6 1/2”. We've had this for about a year now and I have no complaints. If I could do it again, I would just get the basic version without the ledge for the accessories. We almost never use these accessories and the ledge is just something else to be cleaned. It's awkward to use the cutting board because the sink is undermounted to 2cm stone. This bench is produced from solid mahogany with hand-carved details all the way from the scrolled arms to the gadrooned (rope edged) skirt and on downwards to the cabriole legs which feature acanthus carvings as well as ball and claw feet. Useful throughout the home the bench also has a seat which raises to reveal a storage space initially intended to hold sheet music.

This is a beautiful piece. Very elegant but also very sturdy. It is a little larger than it appears so be sure to measure your area. The fabric is also a little darker cream and light goldenrod. It was well packed and delivered in perfect condition. I have it in my entry hall against my staircase and can easily move it into my living room as extra seating.
