I was able to put together during the snow storm. Insert came last but I did need assistance and a power drill to get the screws put in. One was missing but I had one that worked. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This beautiful electric fireplace will be the main focal point in any room! Everything came in 3 big boxes. The stone parts came in one box, the mantle piece in another, and the heating element/fireplace in the third. It was so easy to setup! The entire unboxing, putting it together and cleanup took just about 1 hour. I do recommend a second person to help with setup because it is a big fireplace over 5 feet wide and 4 feet tall. The fireplace comes with a remote control and you can change the color of the fire, the intensity of the heat, the brightness of the flame and it turns on and off with the push of a button. You can also use the fireplace without the heater turned on if you just want to enjoy the ambience of the fireplace. IIt is recommended for use in 120 volt 3-prong outlets. This table top fire pit is a great idea, but there are some things to consider. First and most importantly, I would not recommend having one of these around young children. The rocks are small, the flame is open on the sides, and it is easy to access the fuel— lit or unlit. There were no assembly instructions included. While this is easy to assemble, it might have been helpful to have pointed out that the fuel reservoir is silver and covered in a plastic film. Also, fill the reservoir after placing the rocks so that none fall into the fuel. And, fill it when you have it in its location, not before you carry it somewhere. I’d also plan to put it somewhere with limited airflow because light breezes or ceiling fans can cause the flame to flicker and lay over. I do love the idea of being able to change the rocks if a different color or type is preferred. This is beautiful for the space in the bedroom. It is 59” across and the mantle is 64”. It was extremely easy to assemble. The screws for attaching the firebox are easy self drilling screws, so don’t have pre- drilled holes. As others said, it is top heavy and wants to fall forward. A bottom shelf inside horizontally might fix the instability. Company should work to improve this design flaw. I found a door wedge on both sides secures it in place. Will probably exchange to clear ones. I didn’t want it secured to the wall yet with the enclosed anti-topple devise so I can change the room around. Definitely needs securing in place though. For permanence, I would use inconspicuous L brackets. The bigger Real Flame Alcott 75” is stable having a bottom to it. Yes this is my second Real Flame purchase! Caulking the crevices gives it the carpenter complete built in look. Did not get it for the heat, just the flame aesthetic. I do use the timer feature.
