Most rain barrels on the market don't fully utilize the water they hold because the spigot is located about halfway up the barrel. This allows buckets to be filled but leaves about a quarter of the water standing behind, which can be hazardous. Barrels with optimally located spigots don't allow room for filling buckets and leave hoses as the only option for drainage. These rain barrels are repurposed from pre-used overseas food barrels. There may be slight scratching or scuffs due to previous overseas transportation. Since our rain barrels are made of high-density polyethylene plastic they can be left outdoors even in the winter months so there is no need to modify your downspouts in the spring and fall. The exact shape of the barrels may vary due to availability but the color and size remain true. Because these barrels were originally used to transport food, there may be residual food product odor. The residual odor will dissipate after a few full barrel-filling cycles. The residual odor will dissipate after a few full barrel-filling cycles. We use a pH-balanced, environmentally friendly soap when cleaning so that the water gathered can immediately be used on plants without harm. Manufacturer told me to keep stands or donate which was nice since then I didnt have to package up and send back. Maybe they shouldve changed color name to new color so this wont happen to others.
