It was easy to add this fan to a location where a porch light was no longer needed. I purchased a 3 way switch and connected inside so that we can change the speed with a wall switch. I did not add any additional wiring, so it does not oscillate. However, it is mounted in a 9x9 ft space, so that is not a problem. It is very comparable in sound and pressure to the same desk top fan that I use in my bedroom.
