We did have a smaller window a/c unit that was just ok, but this one is a game-changer! It has a/c AND heat! Year-round comfort! It’s powerful enough to cool our entire garage (and we live in the South-so it definitely has its work cut out for it). The heater doesn’t exactly heat the whole room when it’s super cold out, but it definitely takes the chill out of the air and warms it sufficiently to make it possible to use the room in winter. We love it! The remote is handy and the timer feature is awesome. It is well-made and the as easy to install. We had to order a sleeve to slide it into, but it was very simple. For my small space, 7 x 9, with a tall ceiling, I’m very happy with this small air con. I’ve noticed it’s cooled down my shed office and made it more bearable, both during the day and night. It’s not as cold as a regular air con, but it’s still very good. Compared to a portable evaporative cooler, this unit makes being in a small space, more enjoyable. Working great. I really like the dust collector inside. I'm used to having a thin vent to pull out, but this is a compartment you pull out and open up. The dust is inside and easy to pull out. I highly recommend it for anyone with a pet that sheds on blankets.
