I'm a little concerned that the bottom of the mattress protector isn't made of the same material as the top of the protector. It feels like regular mesh that wouldn't keep in/out mites like the Allerease brand cover I purchased for my mattress. However, I needed an inexpensive solution to cover couch cushions (2nd hand from a dog owner and located in the basement for several years). I could get 2 twin size covers for half the price of the other brand and for a quarter of the price as a allergen/pest cover made specifically for sofas. the XL twin size fits all three top or bottom cushions inside with room. It doesn't need to be aesthetically pleasing since company doesn't come down here. I throw a removable sofa cover on top so that I don't have to see it and to cut down on washes. Despite my concern about the bottom mesh, I do notice that I'm breathing more comfortably when I sit on the couch so it must be working for the most part to keep allergens locked away.. Christen. I had to look at the picture of the item online to figure out how it went together. Also, the cord that comes with it breaks really easily. It was breaking about every 6 seconds and I'd have to re-string some more cord. We had some more heavy-duty cord from a previous trimmer, so we took off the cord that came with it, and re-strung the heavier-duty cord and then it worked great. So overall, a decent week wacker for the price, but be ready to be self-sufficient when it comes to putting it together (which isn't terribly hard) and have some better cord ready to use.. Lori.
