I got this 14,000 BTU window AC for my workshop here in Florida, and honestly it’s been a lifesaver in the heat. My shop gets brutally hot during the afternoons, especially with tools running and the sun beating on the building, but this unit cools the space down way faster than I expected. Within about 15-20 minutes you can actually feel a huge difference. Installation was pretty straightforward, and once mounted it feels solid and secure. I like that it has multiple modes including eco, sleep, dehumidifier, and fan settings because Florida humidity is no joke. The dehumidifier feature really helps take that sticky feeling out of the air. It’s also quieter than I thought a 14,000 BTU unit would be. You can still comfortably work, listen to music, or have a conversation without it sounding like a jet engine. The remote and timer are convenient too since I can cool the shop before I head out there. This is a fantastic portable AC! It works exceptionally well and I love its features, like how the vents move in opposite directions for maximum breeze and how the temperature display is also a thermostat. Portable is debatable, because it weighs 70 lbs. I am not strong, and I thought I would need to hire someone to help my husband get it up 2 flights of stairs. But then I cut out two holes near the top of the box to use as handholds and that provided all the extra help I needed. After it was delivered, I let it sit there for a couple of days and then I did not turn on the AC for another two days after dragging it up the stairs. The only problem was mine, because the window frame is 26 inches wide and the panel where the hose attaches and feeds out is almost 27 inches. I had to measure the excess and use a small hacksaw to saw off the tiny bit of excess plastic. Luckily this was not particularly difficult!
