Returning from his recent trip to Morocco, Ebern Designs has been reexamining his vision regarding color. The impact on his perspective from the places he saw in the cities of Fez and Marrakesh forced him to step outside of his comfort zone. The resulting pivot has been a harmony of earthy, rich tones of flesh, browns and copper complimented with greens, blues and deep purple.

Hand knotted in wool and originating from the Tabriz region circa 1890-1900, this antique Persian rug employs a dramatic, intricate series of patterns unlike almost anything in our collection with this much emphasis on regal pictorial motifs—a rare and collectible new curation among the most unique of Rug & Kilim's curations from this provenance. On the Design:Most notably our team has seldom seen an antique Tabriz rug with this preference of depicting this combination of depicted lovers, soldiers, and animal pictorials, let alone prevailing in the border as the dominant motif as in this subtle homage to neoclassic cartouche patterns.
